A 4-minute story developed for class playing on, inspired by, working through Deleuze.

Text

At last the fire died | Embers settled to ash and the bitter winds took hold
He saw it | just as it was on the morning of his departure

He walked for many days | A fugue

Exhausted he took refuge beneath the pine

A wolf emerged from the stark brush
| Fur Fallow | Eyes inexplicable
| Emboldened by the smell of death

| Each of these indivisible |each a state of becoming

He searched for another | The wolf trailed alongside
Cautious, receptive, waiting
| Each keen to the other

It was at the first road into town where they found the stranger figure huddled beside a long extinguished fire
